Rushdie to speak at Tulane tonight

Internationally famed novelist Salman Rushdie will speak at Tulane's Dixon Auditorium this evening at 7 pm as a part of Tulane's "Great Writers" series. The event is free and open to the public. [Tulane NewWave]

Word to the wise: if you plan on attending this event, get there very early (at least 45 minutes before). About a month ago, ALTL and I attempted to go see Gloria Steinem and did not actually get to see her speak because of unexpectedly high turnout. Tulane is not the best at anticipating attendance numbers.

For those Tulane students who have no idea who Rushdie is, he's that author guy who made a cameo in Bridget Jones' Diary.
