Court rules FBI violated Constituion in Jefferson raid
The much-anticipated 3-0 ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia said that Jefferson is entitled to the return of all "privileged legislative materials" seized in the May 2006 raid.
The court added, however, that Jefferson is not entitled to get back all of what the FBI seized. Its 37-page ruling said that searches of the congressman's computer for non-legislative records were OK as were materials Jefferson willingly handed over to the government.
